Wreaths for front door – Always fun, such a braided Christmas wreath on door, on mantelpiece or table. But you will find ‘green’ boring and are decorated wreaths at shop all too expensive? Go do it yourself! Make a Christmas wreath and / or decorating is easier than you think. Making a braided Christmas wreath as base is not difficult, but you are dependent on type of wood / branches you can find.
If you want to weave wreaths for front door base itself, adjust long flexible willow, currant or birch branches or other type of twigs (10 to 20 pieces, depending on desired thickness of crown). Look in woods or your own garden! At garden centers they’re available. Bend thickest branch into a circle and secure with wire. Now braid other branches one by one to this circle. Set start and end of each branch stuck in head, so you cannot see these tips. Make sure you run same way every time. For something more tangle, wrap last branches in opposite direction.
Another idea is to collect pruning or bark from your garden. Break or cut it into short pieces and glue pieces with glue together into wreaths for front door shape. Make sure you do not use too much glue and let wreath dry thoroughly before you decorate it!
