How To Replace Front Porch Railing – Porch railings need to be replaced every few years. The normal wear typically begins to show after about five years. You can time your “renovation” when you make upkeeps in your home. But, immediately your porch railing fixed the railing is proven dangerous and could hurt someone. To change your porch railings, you need: tape measure, nail guns, screws and new porch railing.
First, take tape measure and take some of the measurements of your existing front porch railing. Add about four inches to the length you measured the posts on the porch or deck. Set in place the new railings. When the rails are firmly in place, secure it with screws or nail gun. You can further secure it using stainless steel or epoxy coated screws. Test your work by putting a little pressure on the railing and wiggling it a little. It must be strong enough and solid enough to withstand the weight of a small child or an adult who can lean against it.
